Our 80-acre air park allows space for simultaneous flying training:
Darley Moor Airfield takes all wind directions and is conveniently situated in South Derbyshire, near Ashbourne – the gateway to the Peak District National Park.
If the weather deteriorates you can retreat to our lecture room for theory sessions on all aspects of flying.
Our club-room is unique within the the world of free flight schools, with comfortable seating, and the Aviator Cafe serving a selection of food and drinks, you can have a full English breakfast, or Sunday lunch, or just a snack. Bring the family to watch you fly - they can watch from the viewing deck, or from inside the café.
All our students automatically become members of Airways Gliding Club. The Club aims to offer you continuous development through a programme of lectures and progressive teaching courses. It will also introduce you to the local flying clubs, the Peak Soaring Club and the Derbyshire Soaring Club for paraglider pilots wishing to fly the hills.
Our fully stocked flying shop has everything you need to get in the air, and much more. Our experienced instructors will help you to choose what you need for your stage of flying.
