Get into Kiting

Kiting is one of the fastest growing sports in the world.  There are not many beaches you visit now that you don’t see someone out kite surfing on a windy day.  In ski resorts, there is always a space reserved for snow kiting.

Two Day Kite Control Course

This is where progression really starts:

Whether your dream is to go kitesurfing on water, or snow-kiting, or simply playing with kites on land, it all begins with learning to fly a power kite.

The skills you need to learn are all about kite control, and understanding how you can generate power whilst maintaining control.  Manoeuvring the wing within its flying “window” to create the right amount of lift, and then sustaining the power to move you along is what you will learn in these lessons.

This two session course (4 hours per day over two days) is a mixture of theory and practical that takes you from the basics of  setting up your kite, learning to fly it and use the power, to packing it away so it’s ready for your next session.

The course will cover:

  • Zone and area safety, and self rescue preparation
  • Set up - where to launch from, and where not to!
  • Daily inspection of kit
  • Pre-launch checks
  • Different types of launch and landing techniques
  • How to help others launch and land their kite safely.
  • Balancing the kite with bar pressure.
  • Manoeuvring the kite through the power zone, to build energy progressively.
  • How to create sustained pulling power by moving the kite
  • Recovery and re-launch of the kite from an inverted position
  • How to release the kite in an emergency.

Come and have fun with the most up to date kites out there.
